From a partial eclipse to a full front cover: my photos in print
My solar eclipse photos from back in August proved to be pretty popular and were picked up by a few magazine publishers.
I was lucky enough to have my paramotor shots published in print and even the front cover of one of the magazines.
There's just something different about seeing your work in physical print.
It was a pretty surreal experience walking into TGJones (aka WHSmith), opening the BBC Sky at Night magazine and seeing my mugshot and photography.
I knew there was a chance it might be getting published, but I didn't actual know when so I kept checking.
The BBC Sky at Night Magazine is the UK's best-selling astronomy magazine, which probably explains why I had a bit of imposter syndrome seeing my work in there.
Astrophotography is an incredibly skilled and technical subset of photography and the majority of the photos in that magazine are beyond my ability right now.
The Cross Country Magazine which is a paragliding magazine also published a full page with the story and one of the photos.
I've posted the story behind how I shot these with my mate Alex - but it was cool to see some of that printed along with a photo.
A slight tangent, but I have to add the the Cross Country Magazine is probably one of the highest print-quality magazines I've ever seen.
And finally we have the SkyWings Magazine which is the official monthly free-flying magazine of the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (BHPA).
This time my photo was the front cover!
My only slight regret with this one is they picked up an early edit of the photo which had a green tinge to it.
But I'm still so happy to have it published on a front cover.
